When Pat Adamatis joined the Little Friends Board of Directors after her retirement from Naperville Central High School, we knew she would bring a wealth of knowledge from her 37 years as a Physical Education teacher and advocate for students with special needs. Starting in February, the FUN Club (Friends Uniting at Naperville Central), which she ran, will also join Little Friends!
We at Little Friends are thrilled to offer the FUN Club as a part of our services. This club is an important resource for local students and young adults who have completed high school or transition programs. The club is dedicated to providing social opportunities to help these students as they move forward into adulthood while also fostering personal relationships between peer buddies and those with special needs through special activities and outings.
Utilizing our new adult facility at 27545 Diehl Road, the FUN Club will meet monthly for a few hours in the evening to sing, dance, play games, and provide a place to connect with others. We know these events will live up to the club’s motto, “If it’s not fun, it’s not FUN Club!”
FUN Club will be hosting an open house on Monday, February 12, from 5-7 pm for families to stop by and learn more about how they can participate.
