Children
In 1965, Dottee Krejci met with a group of parents whose children with special challenges the public school system could not serve. She understood the need for their children to be accepted, included, and reach their fullest potential. Dottee volunteered to start a program to serve this group of children. During the brainstorming for the agency name, a mother suggested the endearing nickname that she called her son her “little friend.”
Little Friends has since grown to a multi-faceted human services agency operating programming that spans a lifetime. Our programs for children include:
