Health Matters at Little Friends
Staff at Little Friends, who work in our adult community day and residential programs, recently participated in training to implement a 12-week HealthMatters Program. This program is designed to engage individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in physical activity and health education.
As a result of this training, staff are now teaching those they serve fundamental concepts related to physical activity and nutrition. They also help incorporate physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices into the individuals’ daily routines. Currently, residents from three of our Community-Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs) are participating in this program weekly, both at home and during their time in our community day program. The curriculum includes discussions, activities, and opportunities for movement!

Volunteer Opportunities
Our agency’s need for volunteers is most prevelent in our Family Respite Services program. You can find more specific information on that page. We do have additional limited volunteer opportunities in our Adult Day Servies program.
